Animal Assisted Activities

gus1.pngMeet Gus!   Prospect Sports Medicine and Rehabilitations’ own Therapy Dog. Whether you’re an animal lover, a young child or young at heart, we know that you will enjoy your therapy and training sessions even more when Gus is included.

Our research, and studies done by medical professionals, shows that having an assistant like Gus is good medicine.   The results are simply too obvious to ignore.

Perhaps you are nervous or scared about the process of treating an injury?  Will there be severe pain?  Will the exercises be so difficult that I dread returning for additional therapy?   There are many psychological defense mechanisms that surface when someone is forced to deal with the process of healing from an injury.

Having a partner like Gus to get you over each hurdle in your recovery process is priceless.  He will motivate you like no other medical professional possibly could.   The smiles on the faces of our patients prove it.

By Definition:  Animal assisted therapy is the deliberate and systematic use of animals in professional care plans, to help patients reach defined treatment goals. They are used to help normalize situations, socialize, calm and motivate patients.

We are planning to share stories and case studies here on this Animal Assisted Activities webpage.   If you have had an experience with Gus or been involved with Animal Assisted Activities somewhere else, we would love to hear from you.   Contact Us with your story.

Our mission is to provide the Compassionate Care you deserve, and therapy with Gus takes the Compassion to higher levels.

Contact Us for your FREE consultation, and meet Gus in person.  We are sure you will agree that Gus makes therapy fun and getting results easy!
